Just as the show was approaching its peak, FOX has decided that Brooklyn Nine-Nine will no longer be continuing.
The network has announced the police sitcom will be shelved after the current season.
The show has gone from strength-to-strength this season, providing some of the funniest moments of the sitcom set in a police station in Brooklyn, but it also helped start conversations about social inequalities, such as racism and LGBT issues.
Starring Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews and Chelsea Peretti among many others, the mix of characters and the clear on-screen chemistry between them all made for a near-natural feel.
