Liverpool-born actress Cornelia Frances - who's best-known for her role in Home and Away - has died aged 77.

She starred as Morag Bellingham in the Australian soap, as well as having roles in Sons and Daughters and The Young Doctors.

Frances revealed earlier this year that she was battling cancer.

Although she was born in Liverpool, she emigrated to Australia in 1970 and that's where her acting career flourished.

She was also host of the Australian version of The Weakest Link.
