You might be living in a small space this Christmas and wondering how you're going to fit the 6 foot Christmas tree of your dreams into the box room...

But Christmas decorations don't always have to be big and in your face.

Here are a few subtle suggestions for how to transform a small space this festive season.

Choose a hanging tree to save floor space

Or opt for a smaller tree

Decorate big furniture with Christmas pillows & blankets

I’m reallyyy trying to convince Sylvia @slcook52 to open up her home as an AirBnB with yours truly as her first guest. #seriously I mean, look at this gorgeous room! And every other room of her home is just as charming and beautiful. And don’t even get me started on her home at Christmas.😍 So.Much.Inspiration! Suffice to say it is an absolute feast for the eyes as her decorating and photography skills are equally amazing. Please pop over and see for yourself though! And ask her about that Airbnb thing too...πŸ˜‰ #onetofollow . . . . . . . #MerryChristmas#Christmasbedroom#Christmasbedding#Christmasdeco#redplaid#madforplaid#bedroomgoals#bedroominspiration#chalkpaint#holidaydecor#holidayinspo#Christmasmood#romanticdecor#romantichomes#vintage#chandelier#cottageChristmas#cottagestyle#redandwhite#vintagedecor#pillows#Christmaspillows#Christmasred#Whitedecor#holidayvibes#whyiadoreyouwednesday

Hang a Christmas tapestry

Add a few simple Christmas touches to your bedroom

Use some red or green fabric as a table runner

Hang a simple Christmas wreath on a door or wall

And so it begins! Cold, crisp days and snug nights in. #December #simplechristmaswreath

Light a Christmas candle and instantly make any room feel more festive

Bonus tip: If you can't fit a Christmas tree in the house but long for the smell, take a few Christmas tree branches and leave them on the radiators.
