1. A Garda and a man were shot in Ballymun this morning. A shot was fired during a drugs raid at a house and Gardaí returned fire. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.  
 
 
2. The Time Magazine 'Person of the Year' award for 2017 goes to the 'Silence Breakers', the individuals, including Taylor Swift, who spoke out about sexual harassment this year bringing the topic to the forefront of the media. 
 
 
3. Facebook has revealed its 2017 Year In Review. Among the most popular topics discussed on the platform this year were Storm Ophelia, McGregor v Mayweather and the Manchester Attack. 

4. Rita Ora has shared a photo on Instagram with her rumoured partner Andrew Watt. People are taking this as proof that her 'date night' caption on a photo of Conor McGregor meant nothing.
 
5. And finally, the latest blockbuster staring Ryan Reynolds has been revealed. It’s called Detective Pikachu and Ryan’s going to be playing the lead role.
